Nordand (Nordand)
Journal Descriptions
Nordand – Nordic Journal of Second Language Research (Nordand – Nordisk tidsskrift for andrespråksforskning) was established in 2006, and publishes research articles, debate and commentary articles, and book reviews in second language studies. The journal aims to be the leading scholarly journal on its subject in the Nordic countries. It focuses on the acquisition of the Nordic languages as second or foreign language, and bi- or multilingualism in the Nordic region (Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland). The approach can be linguistic, psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic, or related to language pedagogy, didactics or language politics. The journal’s target groups are researchers, teachers, students, political and executive decision makers, the media and a broader reading public. The journal publishes articles mainly in Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish, but does occasionally also publish English articles. Nordand is published by Scandinavian University Press in cooperation with the Nordic Network for Second Language Research, represented by the journal’s Editors-in-Chief.
