Nord Revy (NR)
Journal Descriptions
Nord Revy was a Nordic interdisciplinary journal dedicated to regional development, environmental policy, economic planning, and northern European socio political studies. Published mainly in Scandinavian languages and later partly in English, the journal served as an important forum for researchers, planners, policymakers, and regional development specialists across the Nordic countries. The journal focused on issues affecting Northern Europe, including regional policy, rural and urban development, environmental sustainability, cross border cooperation, economic restructuring, and geopolitical transformation in Nordic and Arctic regions. It frequently published analytical articles, policy discussions, reviews, and research papers addressing challenges related to regional identity, northern governance, transportation, labor markets, and sustainable development. Nord Revy gained recognition for its discussions on “northernness” and Nordic regional cooperation during the 1990s. The journal was associated with Nordic regional research institutions and contributed to policy relevant research connected with the Nordic Council of Ministers. Later, the publication evolved into the journal North, reflecting a broader international and English language orientation.
