Journal Descriptions

The Nigerian Journal of Orthopaedics and Trauma (NJOT) is a peer-reviewed medical journal and the official publication of the Nigerian Orthopaedic Association. It focuses on research in orthopaedics, trauma surgery, musculoskeletal medicine, rehabilitation, and related surgical sciences. The journal publishes original research articles, clinical studies, case reports, reviews, and technical notes aimed at improving the management of musculoskeletal injuries and diseases. Its scope includes fracture management, spinal disorders, joint reconstruction, paediatric orthopaedics, sports injuries, limb deformities, bone infections, and trauma care systems. NJOT plays a key role in advancing orthopaedic knowledge in Nigeria and across Africa by providing a platform for surgeons, researchers, and clinicians to share evidence-based practices and innovations. It also supports residency training and postgraduate medical education in orthopaedic surgery. The journal follows a peer-review process and adheres to international ethical publishing standards. It is published in both print and online formats and is widely used in academic hospitals and teaching institutions.
