Journal Descriptions
NeuroRehabilitation is an international, interdisciplinary peer-reviewed medical journal dedicated to advancing the science and practice of neurological rehabilitation. It was founded in 1991 and has since become a key publication in the field of clinical rehabilitation research, focusing on evidence-based approaches to improve functional outcomes after neurological injury and disease. The journal publishes original research, systematic reviews, clinical trials, case reports, and expert commentaries that span the continuum of neurologic disability and recovery, from acute care through long-term rehabilitation. Topics include but are not limited to stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders, assistive technologies, rehabilitation robotics, neuroplasticity, therapy efficiency, and outcome measurement. With a hybrid open access model, it makes selected research freely available while maintaining rigorous peer review for all contributions. Published 8 times per year, NeuroRehabilitation attracts contributions from clinicians, scientists, and allied health professionals worldwide. It is indexed in major databases including MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, the Science Citation Index Expanded, and EBSCO, ensuring broad visibility of its published work. Under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Nathan D. Zasler, MD, the journal continues to shape evidence-based practice and research translation in neurological rehabilitation.
