Neurochemical Pathology (NP)
Journal Descriptions
Neurochemical Pathology was a peer reviewed scientific journal dedicated to research on the biochemical and molecular mechanisms underlying neurological diseases and disorders of the nervous system. The journal published original research articles, reviews, and experimental studies related to neurochemistry, neuropathology, neurodegeneration, and molecular neuroscience. The publication focused on the role of neurotransmitters, enzymes, proteins, lipids, oxidative stress, and metabolic abnormalities in neurological disorders. Major topics included Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, neurotoxicology, ischemic brain injury, neuroimmunology, and inherited neurological disorders. The journal also emphasized experimental pathology, cellular signaling, and biochemical mechanisms associated with neuronal injury and degeneration. The journal served neuroscientists, neurologists, neuropathologists, biochemists, and biomedical researchers interested in understanding the molecular basis of nervous system diseases. It contributed significantly to advances in translational neuroscience and neurodegenerative disease research during the late twentieth century. Later, the journal merged into broader neuroscience and molecular pathology publication programs under Humana Press and Springer.
