National Safety and Health News (NSHN)
Journal Descriptions
National Safety and Health News was a professional occupational safety magazine published by the National Safety Council. The journal served as an important source of information for safety professionals, industrial managers, occupational health specialists, engineers, and policymakers concerned with workplace safety and injury prevention. The publication emerged in 1985 as the continuation of the long running journal National Safety News. The magazine covered a broad range of topics including industrial safety, occupational diseases, accident prevention, environmental health, fire protection, transportation safety, ergonomics, hazardous materials management, and regulatory developments related to workplace safety standards. It also featured technical articles, safety case studies, government policy updates, training information, and industry news relevant to occupational health professionals. The publication contributed significantly to promoting safer work environments across manufacturing, construction, healthcare, transportation, and public service industries. It was widely referenced by researchers and practitioners involved in occupational risk management and employee protection programs. Later, the publication evolved into Safety+Health, which continues under the National Safety Council today.
