Journal Descriptions

Medical Teacher is an international journal that publishes research on medical education including the developments in teaching approaches and methods. Medical Teacher is the official journal of AMEE, the International Association for Health Professions Education. The journal aims to address the needs of teachers and administrators involved in training for the health professions at basic and post-basic levels, and continuing education. Medical Teacher helps teachers keep up to date with developments in educational methods at a time of rapid change in the curriculum, from medical procedures to policy changes in health care provision. Medical Teacher provides accounts of new teaching methods, guidance on structuring courses and assessing achievement, and serves as a forum for communication between medical teachers and those involved in general education. A characteristic of the journal is its series of regular features, including: Twelve Tips: short hints or tips for those working in a selected area Personal Views*: the author's personal experience or viewpoint (*submissions suspended for the rest of 2024) Commentaries: the author’s views on a published paper or on a topic of current interest
