The Medical Journal of Zambia is a peer-reviewed quarterly journal intended for the publication of papers from all specialities of medicine (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology) and their subspecialties, basic sciences, public health, social medicine and medical politics. The journal also welcomes contributions from experienced individuals describing the way they deal with particular problems (i.e. intended to pass on the art of medicine).Its scope includes clinical disciplines such as internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, and obstetrics and gynaecology, as well as public health, epidemiology, and basic biomedical sciences. The journal emphasizes research that addresses local and regional healthcare challenges while maintaining international academic standards. All submissions undergo a peer review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, and ethical integrity. The journal operates under an open access policy, allowing free and immediate access to its content, thereby enhancing global visibility and knowledge exchange. The Medical Journal of Zambia also contributes to capacity building in medical research and supports evidence based healthcare practices and policy development in Africa.
