Lov og Rett was first published in 1962, and is Norway's most widely read law journal. The journal publishes 10 issues per year, each roughly 64 pages. Lov og Rett is primarily aimed at Norwegian lawyers, both researchers and practitioners, but also at students and other readers with an interest in Norwegian law. The journal publishes scholarly articles, debate and commentaries on juridical problems and questions pertaining to legal reform, as well as reviews of legal literature. Articles are primarily published in Norwegian and other Scandinavian languages.
