Leader to Leader (LL)
Journal Descriptions
Leader to Leader is an award-winning quarterly leadership journal established in 1996, originally sponsored by the Peter F. Drucker Foundation and now published by John Wiley & Sons on behalf of the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute (formerly the Drucker Foundation). Each issue features contributions from world-renowned leaders, management authors, strategic thinkers, and social innovators who share insights based on decades of leadership practice. Contributors include executives, consultants, authors, academics, and nonprofit practitioners who write on topics such as leading through change, innovation and strategy, leading diverse teams, ethical leadership, and building resilient organizations. Rather than conventional academic research, Leader to Leader emphasizes practical wisdom, narrative insights, and leadership lessons grounded in lived experience — making it valuable both to scholars of leadership and to practitioners seeking actionable guidance. The journal also fosters cross-sector dialogue among leaders from business, government, and nonprofit fields. Over its long publication history, Leader to Leader has become recognized as a unique forum where leadership theory meets real-world practice, with archival issues serving as a library of enduring leadership knowledge.
