Le Moyen Age (LMA)
Journal Descriptions
This journal is dedicated to medieval studies: history and ancillary sciences, on the one hand, literary history and philology of the Middle Ages, on the other. Founded in 1888 by three French and Belgian scholars (A. Marignan, G. Platon and M. Wilmotte), Le Moyen Âge was originally intended as a bulletin of information and critical reviews for French-speaking medievalists. Gradually, the journal surrounded itself with regular contributors and renowned scholars, enabling it to expand the scope of its activities. Henceforth, it would devote itself, on the one hand, to history proper and the auxiliary sciences, and on the other, to the literary history and philology of the Middle Ages. This is an original feature not found in any other journal devoted to medieval studies. The journal Le Moyen Âge is published with the support of the CNRS.
