Journal Descriptions

The Cultural Secretariat of IILA - the International Italian-Latin American Organization, is inviting submissions for the 2025 issue of “Quaderni Culturali IILA” (IILA Cultural Quaderni) No. 7. This issue is a reflection on the end of the world from the perspective of a world that, at some point, someone defined as “New,” decreeing the end of other native worlds. Latin America is positioned as the privileged outpost from which to observe the fireworks display of the grand finale . Quaderni Culturali IILA is an international open-access journal established in 2018 by the Cultural Secretariat of IILA - the International Italian-Latin American Organization, an international organization headquartered in Rome and comprising Italy and twenty Latin American countries. The journal offers thematic issues, is published annually, and publishes contributions in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and English. Quaderni Culturali IILA publishes studies on Latin American art and culture. The journal focuses particularly on cultural circulation and addresses issues of critical and methodological innovation from an interdisciplinary perspective. Quaderni Culturali IILA is a reference for the study of cultural relations between Italy and Latin America, as well as for the study of Latin American arts and culture in a global context. Quaderni Culturali IILA relies on the contributions of leading academics from Italian and international universities and independent artists and researchers.
