L'Homme (L'Homme)
Journal Descriptions
Founded in 1961 by Émile Benveniste, Pierre Gourou and Claude Lévi-Strauss, and currently edited by Grégory Delaplace and Isabel Yaya McKenzie, L'Homme. Revue française d'anthropologie embraces the multiple currents of anthropological research in its broadest sense, without neglecting the interdisciplinary approach. With an international audience, the journal publishes original work by French and foreign researchers. It combines theoretical texts, critical essays and ethnographic studies, with the aim of apprehending the distant as well as the near, reporting on new objects, reassessing classic fields of anthropology such as kinship or ethnomusicology, and presenting new methods for investigating social and cultural facts. The "À propos" section provides a forum for debate and the exchange of ideas, while the reviews section gives pride of place to well-argued reviews of recent works.
