L'Autre (L'Autre)
Journal Descriptions
The contemporary world is riddled with conflicts and questions raised by the encounter between women, men and cultures in modern, changing, migrant, plural and mixed societies. L'autre, a transcultural and transdisciplinary journal created by clinicians and practitioners in the humanities and health sciences, is intended as an instrument of this reflection. It brings together, in the interaction of cultures and societies, clinical sciences (psychiatry, psychology, psychoanalysis, medicine and humanitarian medicine), human sciences (anthropology, history, linguistics, epistemology, philosophy, sociology, law) and artistic contributions (literature, images, illustrations...). With its printed and digital publications, magazine and book collections, we organize annual thematic symposia and summer schools in various countries around the world (France, Tunisia, Belgium, Chile...). L'autre's publications enable us to think differently about the clinic and the major issues that are currently shaping our societies. This site is aimed at all those involved in this work of links and encounters, where plural identities are constructed by exchanging them, in the words of Edouard Glissant. It is aimed at all those who want to understand and act, in the world of health, social work, schools, justice, politics, the arts and the media. The journal publishes scientific articles (feature articles and original articles), research notes, interviews and reading notes.
