L’Année sociologique (LS)
Journal Descriptions
Founded by Emile Durkheim, the journal is now inclusive: its sole principle remains the search for accuracy and scientific rigor in social science. It largely publishes contributions on empirical sociological knowledge, and research on social science history. It also includes research regarding the relationship between sociology and other social sciences (history, anthropology, economics, and psychology). L'Année sociologique, founded by Émile Durkheim and first published in 1898, is one of the oldest social science journals and part of the historical heritage of national and international sociology. It is currently an open journal, whose sole principle is the pursuit of precision and scientific rigor in sociological knowledge. It publishes mainly contributions to empirical sociological knowledge, but also theoretical and epistemological contributions, as well as research into the history of the social sciences. It is also interested in the relationship between sociology and other social sciences (notably history, anthropology, economics and psychology). L'Année sociologique, which is distributed both in print and electronically, welcomes original research work, whether in the form of unsolicited articles or thematic issues designed to review the state of progress in various fields of sociology, as well as critical reviews of recent essential works, both French and foreign, of interest to general and specialized sociology. A French-language journal, it is open to the publication of texts in English.
