Kioo cha Lugha is a peer-reviewed international journal published by the Institute of Kiswahili Studies (IKS) at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). The journal is devoted to publishing articles on Kiswahili language, literature, linguistics, and other African languages. From 2021 it is published bi-annually. We accept scholarly articles written in Kiswahili or English. Kioo cha Lugha is an international journal published by the Institute of Kiswahili Studies (IKS). The journal is devoted to the publication of papers on Kiswahili language, linguistics and literature and other African languages. It promotes critical discussions and reviews, especially on contemporary issues regarding language and literature. The journal also publishes short pieces of fiction and poems. It is published annually but from 2021 it will be published bi-annually.
