Journal Descriptions

The Journal of Victimology and Victim Justice is a peer-reviewed academic journal launched in 2018 in association with National Law University, Delhi and published by SAGE Publications. It serves as an important scholarly platform focusing on the interdisciplinary field of victimology and victim justice, bridging research, practice, policy, and legal analysis related to victims of crime and societal responses to victimization. The journal seeks to enhance understanding of victim experience, victim-offender relationships, justice system functioning, and institutional effectiveness in addressing the needs of victims. Contributions include original research, analytical essays, case studies, policy critiques, and theoretical explorations that reflect varied disciplinary methodologies—from law and criminology to psychology, sociology, and social work. By publishing bi-annual issues, the journal promotes critical leadership and practical development in victim-centered scholarship, engaging academics, practitioners, service providers, and policymakers worldwide. Its broad interdisciplinary scope enables diverse perspectives on issues such as victim rights, restorative justice, trauma responses, legal reforms, and support mechanisms, fostering dialogue that advances both evidence-based practice and normative frameworks in victim justice. The journal is indexed and recognized in academic databases and is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ensuring scholarly integrity and quality.
