Journal of Transformative Education (JTE)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Transformative Education is a peer‑reviewed academic journal committed to advancing the scholarship on transformative education — that is, learning that leads to meaningful, often profound changes in how learners perceive themselves, interact with others, and engage with the world. Established in 2003, the journal serves an international community of researchers, educators, and practitioners exploring the theory and practice of transformative learning across formal and informal educational environments. Transformative education research encompasses multiple dimensions — from individual cognitive and emotional changes to societal and cultural transformations that occur through learning processes. The journal publishes original research articles, theoretical essays, empirical studies, and Reflexive dialogues that explore topics such as adult and lifelong learning, experiential and holistic education, organizational learning, psychological and social aspects of change, community engagement, and multicultural and cross‑cultural dimensions of learning processes. Articles in Journal of Transformative Education are intended to contribute to the development and refinement of transformative learning theory, to provide evidence‑based insights into its application in diverse settings, and to stimulate dialogue about the role education plays in promoting personal, organizational, and social change. The journal’s global scope and multidisciplinary focus make it a key outlet for researchers interested in how learning fosters transformation at individual, group, and societal levels.
