Journal of the British Archaeological Association (JBAA)
Journal Descriptions
The BAA was founded in 1843 to promote the study of archaeology, art and architecture and the preservation of our national antiquities. It encourages original research and publishes new work on art and antiquities of Roman to post-medieval date, although the art, architecture and archaeology of the Middle Ages form the core of its interests. The Association embraces a wide spectrum of antiquarian and art historical interests (with architectural history strongly represented) and its capacity to engage in debate across these disciplines is a major strength. Regular lectures held in London provide one channel of communication; as does the annual conference held over five days at a place of medieval interest, the proceedings of which are subsequently published in the BAA Conference Transactions series.
