Journal of the African Literature Association (JALA)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of the African Literature Association (JALA) is an international peer reviewed journal that serves as a forum for research on African literary arts broadly, as well as on related areas of African and African diasporic cultural production. The Journal offers a space for examining the interface between literary and other forms of cultural and artistic work on the African continent and in the African diaspora. Articles published in the Journal of the African Literature Association aim to contribute to the fields of literary and cultural studies. The Journal of the African Literature Association publishes research articles, book and film reviews, review essays, important roundtable debates, and interviews with notable African and African diasporic authors and filmmakers. The Journal does not publish creative writing, but does welcome submissions focusing on current debates in African literary and cultural studies. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double anonymized and submission is online via Routledge's Submission Portal. Journal metrics
