Journal of Sustainable Materials Science and Engineering (JSMSE)

The Journal of Sustainable Materials Science and Engineering (JSMSE) is a new international, interdisciplinary, open access journal, published by World Scientific. Materials Science is an interdisciplinary field at the crossroads of the natural sciences and engineering. So important are materials to civilization that entire ages of human development have been named for the most advanced material available, e.g., the Stone Age and the Iron Age. We now live in an era in which human activity influences both the climate and the environment. It is imperative that future human endeavors are informed by sustainability concerns because no raw material resource is infinite and few sources of energy are sustainable. JSMSE will publish articles pertaining to research, development, and application of materials (comprising metals, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, biomaterials, and composites), for sustainable applications, aiming to highlight novel solutions consistent with concepts such as Materials Efficiency and Circular Materials Economy. We will provide a platform for material scientists, metallurgists, ceramists, polymer scientists, textile engineers, semiconductor scientists, chemists, physicists, mathematicians, engineers, bioengineers, and other technical experts, all of whom sit under the sustainability tent.
