The Journal of Strategic Security (JSS) is a double-blind peer-reviewed professional journal published quarterly by Global and National Security Institute (GNSI) at the University of South Florida with support from the USF Libraries. The Journal provides a multi-disciplinary forum for scholarship and discussion of strategic security issues drawing from the fields of global and national security, international relations, military affairs, and intelligence among others. JSS is indexed in SCOPUS, the Directory of Open Access Journals, several EBSCOhost databases, EuroPub, and ProQuest databases. The Journal encourages diversity in theoretical foundations, research methods, and approaches. Quantitative and qualitative studies, for example, each offer valuable contributions to strategic security. Academic disciplines of international relations, political science, psychology, sociology, anthropology, criminology, economics, and history are welcome, as are the applied scholarly fields of security studies, strategic studies, and intelligence studies. JSS emphasizes contemporary security issues, so manuscripts on great power competition are particularly interesting. Topics such as global security threats, multi-domain warfare, artificial intelligence, machine learning, nuclear warfare, space, and counterspace threats, intelligence, inter-state armed conflict, military strategy, terrorism and counterterrorism, jihadist ideology, radicalization, genocide, global policing, insurgencies, irregular warfare, risk management, threat assessment, and violent extremism are well suited to the Journal, as are contributions on security threats arising from transnational crime, global climate change, failing states, energy and environmental security issues, and health crises such as pandemics.
