Journal of Romance Studies is published in association with the Institute of Languages, Cultures and Societies, University of London. The journal promotes innovative critical work in the areas of linguistics, literature, performing and visual arts, media, material culture, intellectual and cultural history, critical and cultural theory, psychoanalysis, gender studies, social sciences and anthropology. Journal of Romance Studies' primary focus is on those parts of the world that speak, or have spoken, French, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese, but articles referring to other languages and cultures are also encouraged. Articles published in the journal cross national and disciplinary boundaries in order to stimulate new ways of thinking about cultural history and practice. Three themed issues and one open issue are published each year. Journal of Romance Studies (JRS) invites submissions of articles and special issue proposals for forthcoming issues of the journal. Published in association with Liverpool University Press, the Journal of Romance Studies: Research in Languages, Cultures and Societies (JRS) promotes innovative critical work in the areas of linguistics, literature, performing and visual arts, media, material culture, intellectual and cultural history, critical and cultural theory, psychoanalysis, gender studies, social sciences and anthropology.
