Journal of Responsible Tourism Management (JRTM) is a scholarly journal that aims to advance and disseminate cutting-edge knowledge pertaining to responsible tourism and hospitality based on theoretical argument, contemporary issues and rigorous reasoning in any developing destinations or regions. It serves as an avenue to converge the insights of tourism and hospitality academics, practitioners, government agencies and other stakeholders and provide holistic views, robust findings and practical implications to benefit readers and the community concerned. Responsible tourism is related to but distinct from sustainable tourism in that it focuses on what individuals, organisations and governments do to maximise the positive economic, social and environmental impacts of tourism. It is about determining and prioritising the important issues locally and addressing those purposefully and collectively. It is also about stakeholders working together to create value and develop a better future. In line with Sustainable Education and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), JRTM advocates for responsible mindset, responsible behaviour and responsible management for the betterment of tourism industry and the local communities. JRTM is published by Emerald Publishing on behalf of the Sarawak Research Society, Malaysia, and funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak. There is no charge to the author. Journal of Responsible Tourism Management (JRTM) is a scholarly, double-blind peer-reviewed journal that publishes interdisciplinary studies in the fields of responsible tourism. The journal focuses on responsible tourism concepts and practices encompassing economic, socio-cultural, and environmental dimensions. It addresses responsible behaviors such as mindful travel, cultural sensitivity, and sustainable consumption.
