Journal of Public Transportation (JPT)
Journal Descriptions
The Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the University of South Florida launched the journal in 1996. Since then, it has established itself as an important resource in its field. The journal has steadily built up a substantial community of readers, reviewers and authors. Submissions and published papers are at a healthy level. Its quality has been recognized by its inclusion as a Web of Science journal (with its associated Impact Factor) and it has a loyal following among practitioners as well as researchers. When the journal began, its Open Access model was unusual, but it is now commonplace. Meanwhile, Elsevier has embraced Open Access and now has a growing family of other Open Access journals in transportation research. We therefore feel confident that this is the right moment to entrust the journal to Elsevier to enable it to grow, develop further, and serve its community even better. This Journal is affiliated with the Center for Urban Transportation Research The Journal of Public Transportation is an international peer-reviewed open access journal. The Journal contains original research associated with various forms of public transportation. Topics are approached from a variety of academic disciplines, including engineering, economics, behavioral sciences, planning, geography, public policy, data science, and others, and include methodological, technological, and policy aspects. Emphasis is placed on the identification of innovative solutions to public transportation problems.
