Journal of Preventive Medicine (JPM)

Preventive Medicine is a global intellectual journal that encourages prompt publication of original articles on the science and practice of disease hindrance, health promotion, and public health policymaking. Preventive medicine aims to reward innovation. It will favor perceptive empiric studies, thoughtful explorations of health knowledge, and unsuspected new angles for existing hypotheses, study randomised controlled trials, and impartial systematic reviews. Preventive Medicine's final goal is to publish research work that may have an impression on the work of practitioners of disease hindrance and health promotion, furthermore as of connected disciplines. The Journal of Preventive medicine its publishes articles within the areas of prevention research, teaching, practice and policy. Original research is published on interventions aimed toward the prevention of chronic and acute disease and therefore the promotion of individual and community health. Of particular emphasis are papers that address the first and secondary prevention of important clinical, behavioural and public health issues like injury and violence, communicable disease , women's health, smoking, sedentary behaviours and physical activity, nutrition, diabetes, obesity, and substance use disorders. Papers also address educational initiatives aimed toward improving the power of health professionals to supply effective clinical prevention and public health services. Papers on health services research pertinent to prevention and public health also are published. The journal also publishes official policy statements from the 2 co-sponsoring organizations, review articles, media reviews, and editorials. Finally, the journal periodically publishes supplements and special theme issues dedicated to areas of current interest to the prevention community
