Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology (JPVT)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology – Transactions of The ASME is a peer-reviewed, highly respected technical journal published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) that focuses on advancing knowledge and engineering practice in the design, analysis, fabrication, inspection, operation, and safety of pressure-bearing systems. Since its inception in 1974, the journal has served as the premier international forum for original research, analytical studies, experimental investigations, numerical simulations, and interpretive reports addressing pressure vessels, piping, pipelines, power and heating boilers, heat exchangers, reaction vessels, pumps, valves, and related components subject to high pressure and temperature environments. The journal’s scope spans key areas including fatigue and fracture prediction, finite and boundary element methods, fluid–structure interaction, dynamic and seismic analysis, welding and fabrication integrity, high-pressure engineering, elevated temperature design, inelastic behavior, life extension strategies, nondestructive evaluation (NDE), codes and standards, and safety and reliability assessments. It also addresses verification and qualification of software tools used in the design and analysis of pressure systems. The Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology is widely cited in major engineering databases and serves practitioners, researchers, and industry professionals engaged in pressure technology, safety engineering, and mechanical component integrity.
