Journal of Occupational Medicine (JOM)

Journal of Occupational Medicine was a major peer reviewed medical journal devoted to occupational health, industrial medicine, and workplace related diseases. Established in 1959 as the official publication of the Industrial Medical Association, the journal provided an important scientific platform for physicians, toxicologists, industrial hygienists, epidemiologists, and occupational health professionals. The journal published original research articles, clinical investigations, case studies, policy discussions, and reviews concerning workplace safety, occupational exposure, industrial toxicology, environmental hazards, and prevention of occupational illnesses. Topics frequently included chemical exposure, respiratory diseases, ergonomics, workplace injury prevention, occupational cancers, and industrial epidemiology. In 1995, the journal was renamed Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (JOEM) to reflect the expanding role of environmental health sciences in occupational medicine. The publication continues today as one of the leading journals in occupational and environmental health research.
