Journal of Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnostics and Prognostics of Engineering Systems (JNEDPES)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnostics and Prognostics of Engineering Systems is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) that focuses on interdisciplinary research in nondestructive evaluation (NDE), structural health monitoring (SHM), diagnostics, and prognosis of engineering systems and materials. Launched in 2018, JNDE serves as a platform for state-of-the-art research on the development, validation, and implementation of methods to detect, assess, and predict damage, defects, degradation, and performance in engineering structures and components across multiple sectors including mechanical, aerospace, civil, materials, automotive, and energy systems. The journal welcomes contributions that explore sensors, signal processing, imaging and ultrasonic methods, machine learning for damage characterization, feature extraction techniques, diagnostic decision support, and prognosis methods for remaining useful life estimation. It also publishes advances in numerical simulation tools, hardware-integrated testing approaches, condition assessment strategies, and real-world application studies demonstrating enhanced reliability, safety, and performance. Covering both theoretical developments and practical case studies, JNDE supports researchers, engineers, and practitioners working on improving engineered system integrity through innovative nondestructive and predictive technologies.
