Journal of Nanotechnology in Engineering and Medicine (JNEM)

The Journal of Nanotechnology in Engineering and Medicine was a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) that focused on nanotechnology science and engineering as applied to both engineering and medical systems. It served as an international forum for high-quality original research, analytical studies, technical reports, and review articles that explored the design, synthesis, characterization, modeling, and application of nanostructures and nanomaterials. The journal brought together scholarship at the intersection of nanoengineering, biomedical devices, micro/nanoscale systems, sensors, drug delivery technologies, lab-on-a-chip platforms, nanofluidics, and nanomanufacturing. Its scope included the creative conception and development of devices and systems enabled by nanoscale phenomena, as well as studies on the interaction of nanomaterials with biological systems and their deployment in medical diagnostics, therapy, imaging, tissue engineering, and health-related measurement systems. JNEM was supported by several ASME technical divisions (including Bioengineering, Materials, Heat Transfer, and Fluids) and sought contributions that advanced engineering knowledge, improved performance and reliability, and addressed translational challenges in both engineering produc­tion and medical devices. Although the journal is no longer actively publishing new issues as of 2016, its archives contain a valuable multidisciplinary body of work at the confluence of nanotechnology, engineering innovation, and healthcare applications.
