Journal of Nanomechanics and Micromechanics (JNM)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Nanomechanics and Micromechanics was a specialized quarterly peer-reviewed journal established in 2011 by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) to advance scholarly research at the intersection of nanotechnology, material science, and small-scale mechanics. Its scope encompassed fundamental and applied aspects of mechanics on the micro- and nano-scales, including the behavior of nanostructured materials, micromechanical modeling, multiscale characterization techniques, computational simulations, and experimental investigations related to the mechanical responses of engineered materials and systems. The journal provided a platform for original research articles, methodological developments, and case studies that enhanced understanding of material and structural behavior where size effects, surface phenomena, and scale-dependent mechanics are critical. Topics spanned from nanocomposite mechanics and lattice-scale simulations to micromechanical characterization, fracture and deformation mechanisms at small scales, and integration of multiscale modeling with engineering design. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, the journal drew contributions from researchers in mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, and civil engineering focused on nanomechanics and micromechanics.
