Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (JMCDA)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing the theory and practice of multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) and multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM). Launched in 1992, it provides an international forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present rigorous methodological developments, applied case studies, and evaluations of decision techniques that address problems involving multiple, often conflicting, criteria. The journal publishes high-quality research dealing with mathematical foundations, comparative assessments of MCDA methods (such as Analytic Hierarchy Process, TOPSIS, PROMETHEE, and others), decision support systems, behavioural decision aspects, and interdisciplinary applications spanning management science, operations research, economics, engineering, and environmental analysis. Both theoretical innovations and practical applications that demonstrate how MCDA methods improve complex decision processes are welcomed. The journal operates on a bimonthly publishing schedule (six issues per year) and is indexed in major abstracting and indexing services including Scopus and the Web of Science Emerging Sources Citation Index. As part of Wiley’s portfolio of academic journals, it maintains high editorial standards under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Jafar Rezaei, supported by an international editorial board. Its dual ISSN identifiers serve both print and electronic editions.
