Journal of Meteorological Research (JMR)
Journal Descriptions
Journal of Meteorological Research publishes research that advances observation, modeling, and forecasting/prediction of weather and climate, as well as related topics in earth system sciences. Covers both basic and applied dynamics, physics, and chemistry of the atmosphere and its interfaces. A Springer co-sponsored journal focused on speed of submission and review, service, and integrity. Official journal of the Chinese Meteorological Society. Founded on 10 October 1924, the Chinese Meteorological Society (CMS) is one of the earliest associations of natural science professionals in China, seeking to promote meteorological observation, research, and development. The CMS’s official journal—Acta Meteorologica Sinica (ACTA) started its first issue in July 1925 and its English Edition (ACTA-English) in September 1987. ACTA-English was published quarterly from 1988 to 2008, and became bimonthly in 2009. It has been included in the Web of Science of Thomson Reuters since Janurary 2007. ACTA-English intends to promote the exchange of scientific innovation and thoughts between Chinese and foreign meteorologists. The journal aims to introduce the latest achievements and developments in the field of atmospheric sciences, especially in the following: pure and applied meteorology, climatology and climate change, marine meteorology, Tibetan meteorology, atmospheric physics and chemistry, cloud physics and weather modification, numerical weather prediction, data assimilation, atmospheric sounding and remote sensing, atmospheric environment and air pollution, radar and satellite meteorology, agricultural and forest meteorology, and so on.
