Journal of Materials Engineering (JME)

The Journal of Materials Engineering is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that focuses on research in materials science and engineering, particularly emphasizing the relationship between material processing, structure, properties, and performance. It was first published around 1979 and became an important platform for research in metals, alloys, composites, polymers, and mechanical behavior of engineering materials. The journal primarily published studies related to mechanical properties of materials, failure mechanisms, phase transformations, corrosion, heat treatment, and advanced processing techniques. It also included applied engineering research in manufacturing industries where material selection and optimization play a critical role. Over time, the journal became associated with Springer-Verlag and related ASM International publications. It later evolved into or was absorbed into successor journals such as Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, which continues similar research themes in a more modern format.
