The Journal of Map & Geography Libraries: Advances in geospatial information, collections & archives publishes international, peer-reviewed scholarship on the collection, curation, and use of geographic information and cartographic materials and on professional practices and issues relevant to the map and geospatial library community. The journal covers topics including, but not limited to: Research, discussions, and innovations related to collecting, managing, and facilitating discovery and access to historical and contemporary cartographic materials and geospatial data. Professional practices of library, archive, and data professionals and their intersections with aspects of the geographic information lifecycle, such as creation, acquisition, evaluation, organization, use, description, dissemination, and preservation. Perspectives on the roles and responsibilities of map and geospatial professionals in academic and public libraries, and the organization and administration of their associated units and services. Advances in tools, methods, approaches, and scholarly applications of map and geospatial library collections. Transfer of knowledge and practices from other areas of librarianship and/or other disciplines to map and geospatial librarianship, and vice versa.
