The Journal of Legal Analysis is the only peer-reviewed journal on all aspects of law. It welcomes traditional legal articles as well as interdisciplinary work and invites submissions from scholars worldwide. It is published as an open access journal by Oxford University Press on behalf of Harvard Law School with a board of editors drawn from many universities.
The vision for the Journal was Professor Steven Shavell’s, who founded the JLA in 2008. An alumnus of Harvard Law School, Terry Considine, generously provided funds to launch the Journal and to sustain it for many years. The first issue appeared in 2009. Past editors of the Journal were Professors Mark Ramseyer (2009-2018) and Oren Bar-Gill and Daryl Levinson (2019-2023).
