Journal of Interventional Epidemiology and Public Health (JIEPH)

The Journal of Interventional Epidemiology and Public Health is an international peer-reviewed open-access journal established in 2018 and published by the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) in Uganda. The journal focuses on advancing knowledge in epidemiology and public health, with a special emphasis on interventional field epidemiology, outbreak response, and disease prevention strategies. It publishes original research articles, reviews, short communications, and policy-oriented studies that address pressing public health challenges, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. The journal promotes evidence-based public health practice by providing a platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share findings on infectious disease control, health system strengthening, environmental health, and community-based interventions. The journal operates under an open-access model and uses a double anonymous peer-review system to ensure scientific quality. It does not charge article processing fees and publishes content continuously online as manuscripts are accepted. The journal plays an important role in strengthening epidemiological capacity across Africa and globally by encouraging locally relevant research and timely dissemination of public health evidence.
