Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society (JICES)
Journal Descriptions
Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society promotes thoughtful dialogue regarding the wider social and ethical issues related to the planning, development, implementation and use of new media and information and communication technologies. Information and communication technologies and new media continue to advance dramatically. From social media to persuasive technologies and the integration of big data, AI and deep learning, these technologies continue to impact society, organisations, the environment, and communities. Much can be learnt from this technological journey about the opportunities it presents for human flourishing, as well as the significant social and ethical risks that can arise. Insight into how we can harness the potential of future technological advances whilst avoiding the risks will shape the ways in which people use technologies and information in the future. The Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society has an important role in providing such insight into the social and ethical benefits and risks. Drawing from a wide authorship, it provides interdisciplinary, culturally, and geographically diverse insight necessary to understand pervasive and persuasive new media and information and communication technologies.
