Journal of Hydrologic Engineering (JHE)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Hydrologic Engineering is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). It focuses on advancing the understanding and engineering application of hydrologic processes — encompassing rainfall-runoff mechanisms, watershed modeling, hydrologic statistics, data analysis, and design tools for infrastructure and water resource systems. The journal covers analytical, experimental, numerical and modeling methods associated with hydrological processes and their interactions with engineered systems (e.g., urban drainage, flood risk, groundwater dynamics). In addition to full research papers, the journal includes technical notes, case studies, model evaluations, and discussions that contribute to both theoretical development and practical engineering solutions. The publication accepts submissions worldwide and aims to disseminate rigorous research that enhances the prediction, management, and sustainability of water resources and hydrologic systems in civil and environmental engineering practice.
