Journal of Human Virology (JHV)
Journal Descriptions
Journal of Human Virology was a peer reviewed scientific and medical journal dedicated to research on human viruses and virus related diseases. Established in 1997 in the United States, the journal focused on basic, clinical, and translational aspects of virology, providing an important platform for researchers studying viral pathogenesis, viral immunology, molecular virology, and infectious disease mechanisms. The journal was published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and became recognized within the international virology research community. The publication included original research articles, review papers, clinical investigations, and laboratory studies involving major human viruses such as HIV, hepatitis viruses, herpesviruses, influenza viruses, and emerging infectious agents. The journal also addressed antiviral therapies, viral diagnostics, vaccine development, epidemiology, and host immune responses to viral infections. Because of its interdisciplinary nature, it attracted contributions from virologists, microbiologists, immunologists, infectious disease specialists, and molecular biologists. The journal achieved indexing in important scientific databases including MEDLINE, Scopus, and molecular biology repositories. It gained a strong reputation during the late 1990s and early 2000s for publishing clinically relevant virology research. Publication activity appears to have concluded around 2002, after which the journal became inactive in major indexing services.
