Journal Descriptions

The Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work aims to disseminate peer-reviewed knowledge on the development, implementation, and ongoing use of evidence-based practice to advance the field of social work. Effective evidence-based practice includes a combination of clinical evidence for heterogeneous populations, expertise, practice wisdom, individual values, and community preferences to inform culturally responsive decision-making and approaches for a wide range of populations and settings. Contributions intended to improve, critique, or refine evidence-based practice in social work, broadly defined, will be considered for peer-review. Each contribution must clearly state its relevance and application toward an evidence-based approach to social work. The journal also considers special issues, featuring a selection of articles related to timely and important themes. Individuals interested in guest editing a special issue should contact the editors. The scope of the Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work includes original research that employs quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods approaches using descriptive, correlational, experimental, or longitudinal designs. Systematic and scoping reviews are welcome. We also invite data notes, method articles, editorials, and book reviews. Submissions from a diverse range of perspectives, including interdisciplinary and international contributions are encouraged.
