Journal of Australian Studies (JAS)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Australian Studies (JAS) is a fully refereed journal that publishes scholarly articles and reviews on Australian culture, society, politics, history and literature. In print since the mid-1970s, it is the quarterly journal of the International Australian Studies Association (InASA). JAS pursues disciplinary diversity, publishing articles from across the full spectrum of humanities fields that critically engage with all aspects of Australia—past, present and future. We particularly welcome work that extends scholarly discussion in new directions and away from rehearsed themes of national identity and debate. We seek to enable and support a diverse and inclusive Australian studies community. JAS pays its respects to all the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters now called Australia. Sovereignty was never ceded. Special Issues: Periodically, JAS publishes special themed issues. If you would like to propose an issue, please contact the editors by email.
