Journal of Asian Security and International Affairs (JASIA)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Asian Security and International Affairs (JASIA) is an internationally recognized scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research on security and international relations in Asia. Since its launch in 2014, the journal has served as a platform for rigorous academic discourse on both traditional and emerging security challenges. It aims to deepen understanding of how political developments — whether interstate rivalry, defense policy shifts, or governance challenges — intersect with broader security landscapes in Asia’s diverse sub‑regions. JASIA emphasizes interdisciplinary analysis, drawing insights from political science, peace and conflict studies, Asian studies, and international relations. It publishes a mix of original research articles, comparative studies, and policy analyses that address issues such as great‑power competition, alliance politics, military modernization, non‑state threats, and regional governance frameworks. By incorporating both empirical and theoretical perspectives, the journal contributes to scholarly understanding as well as practical policy debates relevant to academics, government officials, and practitioners in security communities. As a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), it adheres to ethical standards in peer review and publication.
