Journal of Arabic Linguistics (JAL)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Arabic Linguistics (E-ISSN: 2747-4437) is a specialized academic journal dedicated to the scientific study of the Arabic language from both theoretical and applied linguistic perspectives. It focuses on the structure, evolution, and variation of Arabic across its classical and modern forms. The journal provides a platform for high-quality peer-reviewed research covering syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics, and sociolinguistics of Arabic. A significant emphasis is placed on the diversity of Arabic dialects, including regional and sociolectal variation across the Middle East and North Africa. The journal also publishes studies in historical linguistics, exploring the development of Arabic from Classical Arabic to Modern Standard Arabic and contemporary spoken varieties. Corpus-based and computational approaches to Arabic linguistics are also increasingly featured. As a relatively recent publication, the journal aims to support innovative research and foster international collaboration among linguists specializing in Semitic languages. It serves as an important academic resource for researchers, graduate students, and scholars working in Arabic language studies and general linguistics.
