The Journal of Apicultural Research is a refereed scientific journal dedicated to bringing the best research on bees. The Journal of Apicultural Research publishes original research articles, original theoretical papers, notes, comments and authoritative reviews on scientific aspects of the biology, ecology, natural history, conservation and culture of all types of bee (superfamily Apoidea). This includes bee breeding, rearing, maintaining and management, as well as the study of bee hive products. Specifically, articles within the following classifications can be submitted: Sociobiology and behaviour; Ecology and conservation; Evolution, phylogeny, and biogeography; Genetics and breeding; Pathology and parasitology; Bee management; Hive product science; Toxicology; and Physiology, biochemistry, and chemical ecology. The focus of studies related to hive product science, melissopalynology, and pollination must be towards bees and/or apiculture, not plants or humans. Articles related to medical science, pharmacology, microbiology, food biotechnology are considered out of scope. Articles within the aims and scope of the journal but of limited international interest or lacking any novelty are not considered. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that the manuscript is written in appropriate English. If the minimal English language standard is not met, manuscripts will not be considered.
