e Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy is a journal of the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC) and is among the foremost international journals in antimicrobial research. Our readership includes representatives of academia, industry and health services, and includes those who are influential in formulary decisions. The Journal publishes original articles on lab-based and clinical use of antimicrobials including antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiprotozoal agents. We particularly welcome manuscripts on: the practice of evidence-based medicine relating to antimicrobials (clinical trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses) antimicrobial treatment (pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and prescribing practices) the action of antimicrobial agents and the mechanisms, genetics and epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance antimicrobial stewardship the genetic basis of antimicrobial resistance. We encourage our authors to: offer evidence-based synthesis of knowledge and data useful for clinical practice analyse, reflect and comment on the current state of the art and practice consolidate our knowledge of antimicrobial agents and their use consider the future of antimicrobial chemotherapy In addition to the wealth of primary papers, the Journal also publishes review articles offering in-depth discussion on matters of topical concern. Lively leading articles offer incisive coverage of recent advances and controversies.
