The Journal of Animal Science (JAS) is the leading international journal for animal science and serves as the source of new knowledge in this area. The JAS publishes peer-reviewed research articles, reviews, technical notes, perspectives, and letters to the editor. Articles published in JAS encompass a broad range of research topics in fundamental, basic, and applied aspects of animal production, behavior, genetics, health, molecular biology, nutrition, physiology, reproduction, welfare, veterinary science, zoology and preparation and utilization of animal products. Articles typically report research concerning beef cattle, companion animals, goats, horses, pigs, and sheep; however, studies involving other farm animals, aquatic and wildlife species, and laboratory animal species that address fundamental questions and emerging technologies related to livestock and companion animal biology will be considered for publication. An official Journal of the American Society of Animal Science, continuously published since 1910, offering traditional and open access options.
