Journal of Aging and Health (JAH)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Aging and Health (JAH) is an internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the rigorous study of aging and its health implications across the lifespan. Established in 1989, the journal has served as a premier interdisciplinary forum for research that deepens scientific and practical understanding of how aging processes interact with physical, social, and mental health outcomes. With ten issues per year, JAH publishes a rich mix of original research articles, systematic reviews, methodological advances, and conceptual pieces that span gerontology, public health, sociology, psychology, epidemiology, health services research, nursing, and medicine. Topics commonly covered include health behaviors among older adults, determinants of longevity, disease prevention, long-term care systems, mental health and cognitive functioning, social support patterns, health care utilization, and the policy contexts shaping aging services. By integrating perspectives from the behavioural and social sciences with clinical and public health research, the journal fosters a deeper understanding of both the challenges and possibilities associated with an aging global population. Its multidisciplinary reach makes it essential reading for scholars, practitioners, and policy leaders striving to promote healthy aging, evidence-based interventions, and effective health care strategies throughout later life.
