The Journal of Aesthetics & Culture is a peer reviewed open access journal publishing from within the areas of art, media, popular culture and new technologies. Global exchanges in the art and media world call for transversal theoretical revisions of national, international and regional ideas of cultural framings. It is our aim to publish academic articles departing from the growing cross-fertilisation of aesthetic, cultural and political questions in a contemporary culture. The journal calls for close studies of cases, art-works or media-productions in order to foster new thoughts, methods and theories. Contributions can come from historical or contemporary cultural and aesthetic phenomenon or genres (from popular or vernacular culture to classical genres such as film, literature, music, visual arts and, theatre), as well as from research on aesthetics and culture from different theoretical and philosophical perspectives. These areas include: Media aesthetics Fine Arts and Artistic Research Media and Screen Cultures Philosophy of Contemporary Art
