Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems (JAMES) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to research on Earth system modeling and climate science. The journal focuses on the development, evaluation, and application of numerical models used to understand the atmosphere, oceans, land surface, cryosphere, biosphere, and their interactions within the Earth system. The journal publishes high-quality original research articles related to climate modeling, atmospheric dynamics, ocean circulation, hydrology, biogeochemistry, land–atmosphere interactions, data assimilation, and computational techniques used in Earth sciences. JAMES encourages interdisciplinary studies that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scientific understanding of Earth system simulations and climate projections. Established in 2009, the journal is published by Wiley on behalf of the American Geophysical Union (AGU). It follows a fully open-access publishing model, allowing global access to all articles. The journal is indexed in major databases including Scopus, Web of Science (SCIE), GEOREF, and DOAJ.
